Copyright & Takedown Policy

1. Our approach to imagery

Big Pitch UK lists hundreds of UK caravan and camping sites. To help users recognise each listing, we display a small thumbnail image where we can sensibly obtain one.

Wherever an image is shown alongside a listing, our policy is that the image should come from one of the following sources, in this order of preference:

1. Supplied by the verified site owner — e.g. via our “claim your listing” flow
2. Fetched from the campsite’s own public website — typically the Open Graph image set by the site for social sharing
3. Licensed stock photography or imagery we have permission to use

We record the provenance of every image in our database and review it periodically. Images we cannot confidently trace to one of the above categories are removed.

2. If you believe your work is being used without permission

We respect the rights of photographers, site owners, and other content creators. If you believe content on Big Pitch UK infringes your copyright or other rights, please tell us using one of the routes below and we will act on a complete and good-faith notice within five working days.

3. How to send a takedown notice

You can either email us or fill in the form below. Please include:

• Your name, role, and contact email
• The exact URL on Big Pitch UK where the content appears (e.g. https://bigpitchuk.co.uk/#/sites/example-park)
• A description of the content (which image, what it shows)
• Where the original work appears, if known, or your basis for ownership
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised

4. What we will do

• Acknowledge receipt within 1 working day
• Remove or replace the contested content within 5 working days while we investigate — we apply “remove first, discuss after” as a precaution
• Email you the outcome of our investigation
• Where you are a verified site owner, offer you the option to supply a replacement image you do own

5. Site owners: get full control of your listing

If you operate a campsite or caravan park listed on Big Pitch UK and want to manage your own photos, contact details, and facility information, please email hello@bigpitchuk.co.uk with the subject “Claim listing”. We will verify ownership and grant you owner access at no charge.

6. Counter-notices

If you believe content has been removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to copyright@bigpitchuk.co.uk setting out your basis for use. We will review and reinstate the content where appropriate.

7. Repeat infringers

We will terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly submit user content that infringes the rights of others.
